Expo Morrinho consists of the construction of a replica model favela and exhibition of videos created by the members of the Morrinho team.  The first of these installations was erected at the inaugural International Architecture Exhibition in Rio de Janeiro beside the works of Oscar Niemeyer, Lúcio Costa, and Jean Nouvel.  Project Morrinho later built replicas models at the Urban World Forum in Barcelona (2004), Point Ephémère in Paris (2005), and by invitation of curator Robert Storr, Morrinho constructed a 200 square meter model at the 2007 Venice Biennial.

In 2008, the group debuted a performance-based exhibition called TV Morrinho Live at the Vienna International Theater Festival.  With TV Morrinho Live, the group builds a miniature favela as with the Expo, but they also develop a scripted role-playing drama involving the Lego ‘inhabitants’ of the favela.  The story is then played out, filmed, and projected live via large screens for the audience to follow.  The exhibition also features a music performance by MC Maiquinho, one of the Morrinho youth who has become a renowned funk singer.
